Once you’ve settled into the exciting idea of being engaged, it’s time to get started on the plans for your big day. They say that there’s an app for everything, and when it comes to planning your wedding, that might just be true. Today’s mobile application developers are continuously releasing new apps to make wedding planning easier.

Here’s a few of my favorites, which are available from iTunes, the Android Marketplace and directly from the developers.

Wedding Budget by Sevenlogics, Inc.

Cost: Free

Devices: iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone

What It Is: This app helps you to establish a budget for every aspect of your big day. From flowers, to photos, to your wedding rings, you simply type in the amount of each purchase. The app then deducts what you’ve spent from what you’ve allotted in your budget categories, instantly telling you how much you have left to spend.

Favorite Feature: You can input when payments for various services are due, and the app will send you automatic reminders so you’re never late.

Wedding Guest by BrainFuel

Cost: $2.99

Device: iPad

What It Is: This app lets you organize your guest list from anywhere, using your iPad. Simple to use, the app can accommodate separate lists for ceremony-only and reception-only guests in addition to a master list. When you receive an RSVP, you can easily record it in the app and see who you haven’t heard from.

Favorite Feature: You can import and export your guest list to Excel to manage on your computer.

Wedding Countdown by Sevenlogics, Inc.

Cost: Free

Device: iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone and Android-based devices

What It Is: This app is a simple interface that lets you count down to your big day in months, days, weeks and even hours. The app is fully customizable, allowing you to add photos of you and your fiance.

Favorite Feature: After your wedding day, the app converts to an anniversary counter that you can continue to use year after year.
